I’m Dating A Younger Man

When I was in college, I dated older guys. Then again, I was younger than most other freshmen, so that was pretty much my only optoin.

However, this was the prevailing trend for most of my life.

That changed after my divorce. I was 49 when I got the divorce, and a few months later I turned 50. While I did date a few men my age or older, most of the guys I went out with were a little younger. Usually in their mid-to-late 40s but one guy was 42.

The weirdest thing was this 19 year old guy who wanted to hang out with me. I was sure it was just a friendship, but he was pretty persistent and one of my girlfriends insisted he wanted more. Who knows? He was way too young.

After a few years of casual dating, I’ve settled down to one person. He’s a little younger than I am — three years.

At my age — that is insignificant.

One reason I think I’ve dated mostly younger men in recent years is that, until I was diagnosed with cancer, I was fairly energetic. I liked to do things, and so I tended to attract other people who liked to do things.

It’s really that simple.
