I'm going to be honest here. I like men. I mean there are the 10% who seriously suck. But there is a percentage of women who suck too.

I am dealing with metastatic brain cancer. Before I got ill, I was a strong, independent woman. I gradated with several engineering degrees. I climbed several 14'rs in Colorado. I considered myself able to do anything I wanted to do.

Now I have been humbled.

I can't even get out a fricking Uber without help from the driver. I feel pathetic and helpless. I hate it.

Yet, over and over, I have been helped by both men and women of all races and gender orientation. Strangers have helped me as well as friends and neighbors and relatives.

A kind man drove me home when my Uber driver cancelled. A week later a woman did the same.

A neighbor's father fixed my fence. The same neighbor's daugher fixed my TV when it went down. Other neighbors and friends have brought me food, called to check up on, or did chores for me I can no longer handle. In all of these situations, both men and women of every race helped me.

Anyway, good and bad people exist all over. It's good to be cautious because there are scammers and narcisstic a**holes and people who get joy in bringing others down and they exist everywhere too. But most people are decent and want to be kind, at least in my experience.
