??? I'm sorry, I thought I was engaging with you. I will in future unfollow you and stop commenting on your stories.

However, I never accused the black man of mugging me. As my story made clear, he did NOT mug me. As I have already explained, it was only after the event that friends told me that asking for directions was a way that muggers (of whatever race) would approach people.

As far as the black kids - they were NOT doing well. They lived in a dangerous place (Benton Harbor) and were failing out of school. That is why a group of us volunteered to tutor them.

The reason I like the IDEA of the SATs is that it theoretically removes the subjective bias from the equation. A computer grading a test does not know if the person taking it was black or white, male or female, Vietnamese or Canadian, gay or straight, fat or skinny...

Maybe the SAT as it exists today is imperfect and needs to be changed. But I think the IDEA of an objective, non-discriminatory metric is a good one.

Anyway, if you think I'm racist, I really can't change your opinion of me.

I grew up in NYC and I'm an honest person. I'm not going to walk on eggshells to avoid offending anyone. I am willing to examine myself, however, and try to change.

I grew up with friends from all over the world, all different skin tones and religions and political beliefs. Obviously my Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Mormon and Wiccan friends disagreed with me in many areas. So what?

Maybe you don't want to hear a viewpoint that is different from your own, and that's fine. I will, as I said, unfollow you and no longer engage with you.
