I recently wrote about a man who jumped through hoops to marry an extraordinary woman:

This true-life story shows the true commitment of a man toward a woman. It also reveals that they shared hopes and dreams and even after getting married they worked together toward goals they believed in.

While many people associate romance with the all-consuming passion and tragedy of a story like that of Romeo and Juliet, there are also literary examples of people building love over time, for the long term. And these stories can teach us lessons that hold true even today.

One such story comes from the Bible. Yes, believe it or not, there is romance in the Bible!

In Genesis 29:20, it says:

And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.
