It's actually NOT your fault, anymore than if you'd been raped or robbed or had to drop out of school because your mom got sick and needed you to work because of that. You were a kid yourself when that happened and no one seemed to be looking out for you.

But you can look out for your daughter. Find another tutor to help her. Maybe you can't help her, but you can find the resources she needs, encourage her, and give her someone to vent to. You are a good mother.
