I’ve always been a confident woman and I’ve had to deal with that bias. It’s not fair but what are you going to do? I have women friends severely lacking in confidence and that’s also not fair — because they were abused as children, etc., it’s hit them really hard in ways that I can’t even imagine.

But it does sorta suck for me that people have issues with me when they wouldn’t if a man was similarly confident. I think it’s worse because I’m a WOC. I’ve had to figure out strategies to mitigate that. So I do extra work a man wouldn’t have to… is that fair? Nope. But it’s reality.

And like I said, I hate to complain too much because I have friends who struggle with so much more.
