Liver Cancer Grew

Now I May Do Chemo After All

I was diagnosed with metastatic brain, lung, and liver cancer in April of 2021.

I wasn’t expected to live as long as I have.

I have tried to avoid chemo. I have done surgery (to remove a lemon sized lump from my brain) and radiation (for my lung and brain.) But I was resisting doing chemo.

However, my liver cancer has been growing.

The alternative therapies I’ve been trying are not helping, though they have helped with my lung and brain cancers.

I am having a port put in Monday morning. It is a simple surgery so I’m not too worried about it.

However, I am still wary of chemo.

A friend pointed out that often liver tumors are benign. He suggests I have a PET scan or MRI before doing the chemo, to make sure the growth is malignant.

I am going to try to do this. More information is always better.

If I do chemo (which I think is very likely at this point) I plan to take steps to strengthen my immune system throughout the process.

I’ll be honest. I’m a little scared.

I hope I get through this OK.

I am fighting stage IV cancer. If you can donate to help me with medical bills, I would really appreciate it. Or if you enjoy my writing, and would like to buy me a cup of coffee, that’s great too. Maybe someday I can return the favor.
