Maybe I loved my cat more than you

The other evening I heard my cat, Opal, snoring. It made me smile. It sounds so cute!

Brought back memories of when I was married. When my husband snored, I’d poke him until he turned over and stopped snoring. This annoyed him because sometimes it woke him up.

“Why can’t you let me sleep?” he groused.

“Because I can’t sleep when you snore,” I responded. I tried to find other solutions to no avail.

Once I gave him Breath Right strips. They helped. But he found them uncomfortable. Same story with every other idea I had.

So he was poked occasionally.

What annoyed him even more, though, was that our cat at that time, Snoopy, had started to snore. And whenever she did, I’d just go “Awww!”

Snoopy slept on our bed with us. This is a privilege that, of all my pets, only she has had.

My dogs have slept in my bedroom, but on their own beds.

My current cat, Opal, doesn’t understand the concept of letting me sleep at night. I’ve tried to explain it to her. She refuses to get it. So she is allowed to hang out with me on my bed while I read before bedtime, but she is kicked out when I go to sleep. She of course…
