MIDNIGHT AND TYAN: THE SHIELD OF MARS

Midnight was dumbfounded. The Shield of Mars. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Stealing something from a god? That was suicidal. And stealing from Mars? That was insanely suicidal.

Mars was a brawler. A lover of the martial arts, he had an impressive physique. He was lightning fast as well as powerfully strong. He also had a fast and strong temper, unlike his counterpart on the field of war, Minerva.

Hot-headed Mars craved glory and fought at the front of the battle. Cold, decisive Minerva led battles from the back. She discussed strategy with generals and directed troops but stayed far from the danger zone. Yet her magic weapon was her Spear, while Mars’ special device was his Shield.

What wasn’t discussed in public, Midnight thought, was that Mars always had a group to protect him. The feats he bragged of occurred in duels against weaker opponents. In a battle, where the unpredictable could injure him…
