My Dog Now Outweighs Me!
This is NOT GOOD!!!!
I’ve been fighting cancer since April of 2021. It’s metastatic brain cancer and they originally gave me 6 months to live. I want to live. So I made dramatic changes to my life.
One of the worst changes I’ve had to make is to have a friend take care of my dog for me because I often don’t have the energy to give him walks.
He is a white German Shepherd, and he needs a lot of exercise to thrive.
However, he and I miss each other terribly and thankfully my friend brings him over for visits, including overnight stays on days that I have the energy for it.
When I first got Snowy, he was 6 months old and weighed 50 pounds. I thought he would get up to about 70–80 pounds. The woman who gave him could no longer keep him, and told me that she thought he would be on the upper limit of that scale.
I’ve had a German Shepherd before and didn’t anticipate a problem.
Unfortunately, he is now 132 pounds! He now outweighs me! While he carries it well, he needs to lose weight.
