My right hand doesn’t work anymore. I was hoping for something like arthritis or carpal tunnel. But an MRI Friday showed I have 5 new tumors. 2 of them are over an inch in size.

Now, the good news is that the tumors treated by radiation in the past are gone. I respond really well to radiation. So there is hope that the treatment will destroy these new tumors as well.

But there will be side effects.

I’ll lose my hair.

I may have cognitive issues. But there is a drug they can give me that may help. Plus, I do brain exercises every day. After my last round of brain radiation, I experienced some loss of function, but I’ve gained it back. I can do it again.

I also will need to take steroids to reduce brain inflammation. I hate steroids.

But, you know, I have no other option. I’m not willing to give up. I am fighting this. I have to believe I can win.
