I Voted Early

I voted yesterday. I made the cut-off before the polls closed by 4 minutes.

It was mostly local bond issues. I took the time beforehand to understand them and form an opinion. Then I went to cast my ballot. I was proud to make my voice heard on issues that could affect me.

This is why we vote — to influence the outcome on the issues that matter to us, that could affect our lives.

Feedback got me thinking

After I got home, I posted on Facebook that I voted and told my friends to make sure they did too.

Only the Republicans replied.

That got me thinking… who votes?

Across the Spectrum

I have friends all over the political spectrum. Among my friends are libertarians, anarchists, progressives, socialists, traditional liberals, centrists, neocons, constitutionalist and so on. I have friends who are fiscally conservative and socially liberal and others who are socially conservative but fiscally liberal.

I have friends who call themselves populist, but their definition of populism varies widely. Some people call Bernie a populist…
