My social life has improved since Covid — yours can too
Hint: Technology is your friend. So are pets.
I’m an introvert, so when the lock downs began, I wasn’t too worried. But then I got a puppy and I realized that while social isolation might not bother me too much, he needed to be socialized. Plus, as the weeks dragged on, I realized that even introverts have limits when it comes to isolation.
There’s a reason that putting prisoners in isolation is considered a punishment. Human beings were not designed to be alone.
So, what are we to do in the Age of Coronavirus?
Technology helps. But, as I’ve seen with my dog, technology is not enough. And even us introverts need some human touch once in a while.
What each of us has to figure out is what risks we can take. For those in high-risk categories — it’s best to stick to only virtual play dates. For the rest of us — do a risk assessment, but realize that you need to watch out for your neighbors. Even if a particular activity won’t put you at risk — don’t do it if it will put others at risk.
So how have I maintained my sanity in the face of Coronavirus?
