Yesterday I watched the first episode of Naomi with a friend.

Since I’m tired a lot lately thanks to weekly chemotherapy sessions, I have been watching a lot more movies and series. And with my low energy levels, I am not watching documentaries. I’m looking for lighter fare.

The Marvel Universe is one of my favorite playgrounds when I just need to chill, but I also enjoy DC. I actually just love superhero movies, though right now I prefer the ones that veer more towards comedy than the deep, dark dramas.

Teen movies that are not too silly are great right now.

So I watched Naomi. I liked it.

The main character is physically just lovely. The curve of her cheek and her elaborate braids are gorgeous.

She’s smart, too. She speaks a lot of languages and takes AP classes. Plus she dances, laughs with friends, and rides a mean skateboard.

What’s not to love?

She is also adopted. I won’t go into more details because I don’t want to veer into spoiler territory.

Naomi gets along with her adoptive parents, who seem like a nice couple, but I didn’t catch much chemistry between them.
