Oh, OK - that was the "hanging chads" election. Very contentious election. There is an interesting parallel whereby some Kerry supporters (including I guess Kennedy) thought Bush stole the election, but in 2020 some Trump supporters thought Biden stole it. People on both sides still think this. does that opinion disqualify someone though from running for office?

The thing is I think we are in a populist mood right now and Kennedy is one of the ones who is hitting the "right" notes. If Biden were more popular, then he'd get no traction.
