Oil Pulling

I was frankly surprised at how well it’s worked for me

I have always been curious about alternative treatments for ailments and open to trying them out if there is evidence to back them, particularly if the treatment in question has little to no side effects.

So, for example, when I was diagnosed with inflammatory breast disease 20 years ago, I added juicing, regular sauna, and rebounding to the treatment my oncologist gave me. I believe that is one reason I am still around today — I was given 6 months to live but obviously that was a wrong prediction.

Recently, I’ve noticed that my mouth has become more sensitive to temperature.

I did some research, and while allopathic (modern Western) medicine offers treatments like using toothpaste made for sensitive teeth, etc., none of it really seemed satisfactory to me.

However, there is an Ayurvedic treatment called oil pulling. Ayurveda is an ancient Indian healing practice that’s been around for over 5,000 years. Since my parents came from India and my mother’s grandmother was trained both in Western medicine as well as Ayerveda, I am familiar with a few of the concepts.
