One trick I used - when you are craving something sweet, have a fruit. It has nutrients and fiber so it is a healthy option.

As far as cookbooks... just look for gluten free and sugar free recipes. I sorta make up my own recipes so I can't recommend a good cookbook. I do occassionally post recipes though.
