People Target Innocents
I’ve seen this before
I have been taking a hiatus from the news after seeing some of the inital footage of the bombing of Israel. The death of innocents (on both sides) hurts my soul and I needed a break.
Today I briefly tuned in to First Post with Palki Sharma. I used to watch her regularly when she worked for WION. I prefer those news sources to mainstream media because it’s not politicized in the same way. Palki in particular is good — she is truly smart. I’ve seen her conduct unscripted interviews, and her breadth of knowledge and intelligence impressed me.
Unfortunately, today she was covering some of the tragedy that continues to unfold globally due to the events in the Middle East.
For example, the death of a 6 year old boy in Illinois. He was stabbed by an elderly man. His crime? He was a Palestinian Muslim.
Meanwhile, in many parts of the world, including the United States, antisemitism has spiked as Jews are being targeted.
None of these people are terrorists. They have not been responsible for the deaths in the Middle East. Yet they are proxy targets for those who want to express their hatred for “the enemy”. Instead of actually going abroad to where the militants are, however, they find more easy outlets for their hatred.
