Since Scott Adams is a humorist, I wonder if he was being tongue in cheek or sarcastic or deliberately provocative? OTOH, he had a chance to clarify after the incident and he never did.

You make a really good point re. the words used - a better question would have been "are black and white people equal?" I would hope most respondents of all races would say "yes" to that question?
