I am not saying we shouldn't ban guns, but will it cut down on deaths? Thanks to several countries severely restricting guns in the 1990s, we have actual data to see if this is effective.

This research presents a lot of data, and compares the UK, Canada, and Australia with the US. In Australia, you can't buy a gun simply for self-defense. It is very restricted, and because it's an island, no guns crossing over the border as happens from Indiana to Chicago.

The actual data though shows that these restrictions did not reduce murders.
