TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) is a real thing unfortunately. I am saying this as someone who did not vote for Trump and who begged everyone I knew not to vote for him. BUT you also should not base decisions on whether or not Trump supported something. Instead, you should base your decisions on actual data.

According to actual scientific journals, the risk for spread of Covid by elementary school kids is tiny. So there is no reason not to open the schools AS LONG AS you provide options for students/teachers/families who may be at risk.

So, for example, if your first grader has asthma or lives in a household with abuela, then maybe they don't need to be going back to school. And if a teacher has, say, lupus, he or she needs to be allowed to work from home. Accommodation has to be made for those who need it, but for the rest - send the kids to school.
