Thank you for a much needed article.

The women (and the few men) who work in daycare, in elder care, in hospice… who do the essential things, often with great patience and even love, but who get paid very little. We NEED them, and we should pay them.

If you think your aid worker really is like family, then treat them the way you’d want your own sister or mother or daughter to be treated — with dignity, with a decent wage, with paid time off… be a better person whether or not the state mandates you to be.
