Thank you for judging me without attempting any sort of dialog. As a child in the NYC public schools in the 1970s, I heard teachers and classmates say racist things about me because I am Asian. They judged me without getting to know me, based solely on race. You judge me based on a comment that you mis-read.

I never said that black parents should talk about Ben Carson to their children. So you are putting words in my mouth. How tolerant and open minded of you!

What I actually said - "In the field of medicine, we have people like Ben Carson. His story is an inspiration to anyone, of any color."

If you are going to judge me, at least do so based on actual evidence, not on something you made up. Elsewhere in my comment, I state "Racism and discrimination absolutely do exist, but not every bad experience is due to racism." Yet you accuse me of pretending that racism doesn't exist, when I openly state that it does!

And, guess what, I know there are plenty of other examples of black excellence besides Dr. Carson. I know some of them personally, such as the lab partner I mentioned in my original comment. Additionally, anyone who knows me would know I admire Mary Mcleod Bethune, Marian Anderson and Zora Neale Hurston, among others.

I was not lecturing anyone, simply sharing my own experiences, just as you could have shared yours. I would have been happy to read about your experiences if you hadn't come across as condescending and close minded. It is obvious from your comment that you are yourself guilty of what you accuse me of.
