OF course only a fraction of the German population supported the Nazis, but it's good that you mention this since people often make assumptions.

I do have several German friends (who grew up there) and from what I have seen, they are more likely to show you through their actions that they love you than to say it verbally. However, given my personal knowledge is limited in sample size.... I am not assuming this is true of all Germans!
