Thanks for posting the video of the cow. I didn’t watch it because I can’t bear to… I’ve seen similar videos and I think everyone who drinks milk should watch it and try to image what it’s like for a mother to lose her child.
I did buy milk at one point from a local organic farm. The farmers kept the calves with their mothers on pasture. When the calves were weaned, of course, they were destined (if male) for slaughter, but at least they had a few months of happiness. They stayed in a herd with their mums and mates in a large grassy field with water features and some wooded areas for shade.
At this point in time I no longer buy milk. I have gone vegan for periods but find it hard to stay 100% vegan for health reasons. So I do eat small amounts of pastured meat and eggs, but typically 80–90% of my meals are vegan.
