Thanks for the above response. I also wish you well and I’m sorry if I triggered you. I have no desire to poke and prod at wounds and cause pain, so I apologize if I did that.

I agree with you that there are things done in the name of faith that are pretty terrible. And it’s not just historic — I read an article about the bacha baza (sp?) of Afghanistan and how our military (and therefore my tax dollars) supported this evil practice. And of course there is plenty of cruelty done in the name of Christ, and that makes me angry too.

Most recently I’ve been pi**ed off by the abuse of beagles in the name of “research” — something Fauci may have known about. These poor puppies (they were only 6–8 months old) were being eaten alive by sand flies. And that was with no religious connation, that was supposedly in the name of science — but I have no idea what the heck is being learned from torturing innocent animals. This kind of cruelty just makes me sick.

The unfortunate reality is that there are a lot of sick f*cks out there, and Christians and other people of faith are not immune. The only solution is to shine a light on it and honestly try to deal with these issues. JMHO
