The Kingdom of God

Where is it? And how do we find it?

As a Christian, I have heard the phrase kingdom people when referring to believers. Yet what does this actually mean? And where is the kingdom of God? Jesus responded to this question several times.

To Nicodemus, who came to Jesus at night to talk about the signs he was performing, Jesus says:

Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. — John 3:3–5

To the pharisees, he said:

Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, “See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” — Luke 17:20–21

To His disciples, in the Sermon on the Mount, He says

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. — Matthew 5:3
