The problem is - where does it stop? Do fat people get penalized if they get diabetes? Do smokers not get treatment for lung cancer? Do people with lots of sex partners who don't wear condoms still get treatment for STDs? People make stupid choices all the time. I've known young people who choose not to have health insurance because it would cut into their beer budget (true story, I had a 23 year old friend who told me she was doing this; I tried to talk her out of it to no avail). People are idiots but not sure that's a reason to not provide them with health care. Particularly if they are paying an insurance premium...
