there was a simple solution - when they allocated funds to pay for rents, they could have crafted the law so that LANDLORDS got paid directly, and were the ones filling out the paperwork. I've heard of too many cases where the tenants don't bother to fill out the paperwork to make sure the landlord gets paid.

The Democrats have become the party of entitlement. After all, housing is now "a right". Along with healthcare and anything else... but who pays for it? The Dems will claim it's the rich, but as you've learned, it really ends up being the middle class.

One thing I find interesting - many Dems nowadays are in favor of socialism or communism, though they call themselves progressives. But if you look at what they stand for - it's basically the same. But what has happened to every country that espoused those principles? What happened to Cuba after Castro took power? Prior to that, it was one of the richest countries in that part of the world.

Or, compare and contrast the former East Germany with West Germany. Or N. and S. Korea.

Many champions of socialism use the example of Scandinavia - but those countries have a very capitalist economy but also strong safety nets that are paid for by the strong economy.

I'm not a Republican because there are also issues with them, I am a Libertarian. I actually think that is the most in keeping with the Constitution.
