these are all good points.

to be honest, back in the 1960s and 1970s, there were gun clubs in high schools. I had a friend who took his rifle into school. left it in the car. he would get into fights with other kids once in a while, they used their fists. no one ever went for a gun.

the culture was different back then.

I brought up the idea of having metal detectors and a security guard because they do that in Israel and it seems to work for them. if we manage it like we do the TSA... yeah, not going to work well.
