The thing is - Derek Chauvin is innocent until proven guilty. A lot of people thought OJ killed Nicole, but he was also innocent until proven guilty. The reason we have that standard is that we as a society believe it is worse for an innocent person to suffer than for a guilty person to walk free.

One thing that people forget - Chauvin was following police procedure that allowed him to put his knee on Floyd's neck. Maybe those procedures need to be changed after what happened to Floyd.
