This is actually a very sane perspective.

I routinely read news sources from all over the spectrum because I want to understand how different groups think. While I have my own opinions, I don’t hate people who disagree, because I have made the effort to try to understand their point of view.

What many people don’t realize is that, outside of mathematics and the hard sciences, there can be more than one valid answer, depending on many different variables. Instead of judging people who disagree, maybe see their common humanity and treat them with kindness. That is hard to do though if you are ruled by strong emotion.
