this is why I avoid megachurches. The church that I go to is very transparent. Pastors make reasonable middle class salaries and put in a lot of hours for it. We have occasionally given her a gift but that was because women in the church got together and secretly contributed to get her flowers. Her husband works full time and so do most of the spouses of pastoral staff.
