Using Both Medication and Supplements To Help My Thyroid
I’ve learned they both have their place
I don’t know if you’ve watched the show House. It stars Hugh Laurie, who I think is a great actor. He also stars in the British series Jeeves and Wooster. Being a big P.G. Wodehouse fan, I enjoyed watching this, and it made me realize just how good an actor Laurie is — being able to believably play both highly intelligent, cynical, and often unpleasant Dr. House as well as somewhat idiotic, naive, and generally pleasant Bertie Wooster.
At any rate, during one episode of House which a sick nun, Dr. House questions one of the nuns about how come they’ve brought her in for treatment instead of just praying over her. The nun responds that she believes in prayer but she also believes in medicine.
I have explained this to people when I’ve been asked questions about my own treatment.
I was first diagnosed with cancer when I was in my 30s. At the time I asked church members to pray over me and added a variety of holistic treatments and natural supplements to my routine. However, I also saw an oncologist, was tested regularly, and I did go through chemotherapy and radiation.
The thing is, it’s not an either/or situation. When you are ill, you can do both.
