How would you like to watch a movie and get a meal while your Tesla charges? If you live in Los Angeles, you might be able to do that someday. While no opening date has been given, Musk has submitted the necessary paperwork to the Department of City Planning for Los Angeles.

The site will feature a diner with both indoor and outdoor seating. In the parking lot will be 29 Supercharger stations and 5 level 2 chargers.

Tesla Supercharger stations allow people to charge both the Tesla Model S and the Model X. The time to fully charge will be between an hour to an hour and a half for the Superchargers and about 4–6 hours for the rest. Charging from a standard 240 V socket takes about 10 hours.

According to the filed paperwork, the combo charging stations/diner/drive-in theater will be on West Santa Monica Boulevard. A Shakey’s pizzeria will be demolished to make room for the project. the rest will be Level 2 chargers.

Patrons will have two screens to choose from as well as a classic diner menu.

Musk has been talking about this since 2018. At that time, he also wanted to have a roller skating rink. Since then, he’s filed a trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
