Well, he did grow up with some rough stuff, but so do lots of people who don't turn into monsters.

His Mom was a drug addict, the cops were at the house a lot, and finally his grandparents took him in. But I know people who have had it just as bad or worse and they become more compassionate, not sociopaths.
