when I was in college, I addressed this. I started to ask men out. And, guess what? It never worked.

I was pretty popular in college and went on a LOT of dates. I kept a calendar and sometimes I would have 2 dates on a Friday, for example. So guys were asking me out all the time.

But when I asked them out... either they'd turn me down (which was fine) OR we'd have a really bad date. Same when I offered to pay... again, I wanted to be fair. In theory, it seemed like the right thing to do. But it just didn't play out in the real world.

Whereas the guys who chased me and who paid for the date almost always treated me with more respect and we were much more likely to have a good time. So, being of a scientific bent - I collected my data and went with what produced the best results. I was happier, the guys seemed happier...
