When I was married, I didn't mind doing most of the housework when that was my job because I wasn't working outside the home. When he and I both worked, he did more than half the household chores while I did more of the gardening. It felt fair and we were both happy.

Ultimately, that is really the thing. If you are BOTH happy with the status quo, no need to change. If you are not happy, and you communicate this, and he doesn't meet you halfway - then there is a problem. If he cares so little for you that he is unwilling to make even small changes for you, then why are you with him?
