Why don't more black people step up to the plate and adopt black children?

I know many wonderful black families but they don't adopt. Why not?

I have white friends who have adopted black and brown kids and they do very much love their children. That does not mean they don't face challenges. For example, one white friend told me that she had to learn how to style black hair. Another told me that the racism her black son faced opened her eyes.

Even white parents who are in inter-racial relationships and so have mixed-race children can show subtle racism. It's really pervasive in our society but the good thing is we are talking about it.
