Women of All Sizes Are Beautiful and Can Be Healthy

Focus on your health, not your weight

I wrote an article yesterday about how I’ve lost 40 pounds in the last year. Don’t get me wrong, I’m really happy about this. But part of that is because I am fighting cancer, and being fat increases cancer risk. As someone fighting lung and liver cancer, I do have digestive issues. So I make sure that the food I eat maximizes my nutrition. That means lots of veggies, occasional freshly squeezed organic juices, and high quality protein. I eat fruit when I crave a sweet because fruit has fiber and vitamins.

So while I like the weight loss, my main goal is health.

And that should be anyone’s goal.

A beautiful woman (or man) is a healthy woman (or man).

It’s really just that simple.

Sometimes the healthiest weight for your particular body might be a weight that society considers overweight. You know what? Screw society.

You need to focus on what is best for you. If you are a 5'4" woman, guess what? According to medical experts, your healthy weight range is anywhere from 110 to 144 pounds. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t weigh more or less and be healthy.
