You know, maybe he should have asked her before he called a cab for her BUT her response was over the top. He was trying to be a decent person. She acted like a total b*tch. He is well quit of her. I would advise him that there are many women who actually appreciate a decent guy, but HE needs to be more selective.

I love guys who hold the door open for me, help me out with heavy boxes and so on. I am treated very well by men, but I show my appreciation, I don't act like a shrill shrew because someone is being thoughtful or kind. And this is true for both men and women - women should also be helpful when they can. I've held the door for men who are carrying heavy packages and treated men to coffee. It's not a gendered thing. Everyone should try to be kind.
