I do disagree with you regarding freedom of speech.

It's goes back to the old schoolyard adage - sticks and stones, etc. I support the rights of the individual, as a traditional liberal in the John Stuart Mill mode. If someone makes a stupid argument, you can refute it by a more intelligent one. If someone calls you names, it's easy to walk away.

Violence, OTOH, should never be countenanced.

Obviously we disagree. Just as obviously, we are two smart women who have had an interesting chat despite our disagreements. So, I take that as a positive.
