I am dating a German - he left Bavaria for the US when he was in his 30s. For the most part it's not an issue since I like being on time, though for him "on time" is really 2 minutes early. But that's not worth a quibble.

Some of the rest of it is just figuring out what you are OK compromising about and what's a hard no.

I never go shopping because I hate shopping and just order everything online. A man once broke up with me because I refused to go shoe shopping with him. Not that we were compatible anyway.

At my current age, I figure as long as my partner and I are 80% compatible, we can both give each other some space the rest of the time. It's not like we are kids who need to be Siamese twins...
