You raise an interesting point. I found it hilarious that you knew how Jackie would react! :-) However, the original article made it clear he had spoken to me about the incident, so, nothing new she can accuse him of.
When Kevin asked to no longer be friends, I respected that choice and deleted him from my contact list after texting him an apology.
I have always blurred the identities of people involved in incidents described in my articles. This is out of respect for their privacy. However, in future I will also touch base with any friends involved before publishing.
If Kevin's relationship with Jackie is based on lies, that is sad, but not my responsibility. I am an honest person and my own close relationships are based on honesty and respect.
I don't really get the point of histrionics. If the situation had been reversed, if I'd been married to someone whose friend published an article about me - as long as they hid my identity and stated the facts correctly - I wouldn't much care.
