you raise valid points BUT I give the example of a couple of friends who were single mothers on welfare. Both of them managed to get out of poverty and making better choices helped them.
I am not judging anyone - you are a grown adult and you make your own choices.
And even as a broke grad students I had a budget for things like ice-cream for days when I was down. And my single mother friends on welfare probably did the same.
But they also creatively used strategies that I shared - some people might find this useful, others would not. And that's fine. Everyone has the right to make their own choices.
