Stories from the new dating reality
A male friend of mine recently broke up with his long-term girlfriend.
He seemed crushed at first, but then he got on various dating sites and now every time I talk to him, he seems giddy.
I asked him if he’d be OK with my writing about the experiences he’s having and he said, “Go for it.” He also gave me permission to share photos as long as the women in question agreed and I blanked out faces.
He is 58 years old. His first “date” was a booty call. She was a 51 year old woman, so she was “age appropriate”. She was black, while he is white.
She showed up with a change of clothes and asked if she could take a shower. After, they got busy. He told me she was very good. He seemed giddy and would have been happy to share details if I’d wanted them. I didn’t. I wouldn’t have minded a picture, but she refused to give permission, which I think shows wisdom. I’d promised to blank out faces but how would she know if I kept that promise?
