Your article really made me think...

I am going to have to watch this movie. I was not planning to, because I think the scenes of the children dancing would be disturbing.

It's sorta like reading Lolita. Nabakov was a genius and the book is disturbing because of it. Because he makes us see a reality we may not want to. Perhaps Cuties is disturbing in the same way?

I do think it's a fair point for parents to be careful about what they post on FB re. their children. Not because it's the children's fault that pedophiles hone in on them, but because parents want to protect their kids.

The issue of course comes down to what does protection really entail? Is it best to lock your child in a glass bubble, or better to gently inform them and encourage self-confidence and independence? What protects a child best?

Also, perhaps we need to be harder on other movies, shows, etc. Family Guy, for example, really is disturbing sometimes. I'm not for censorship, but I think it's good when people speak out that jokes about pedophilia are in bad taste.
